The Soča Valley is one of the most attractive areas for paragliding in Europe. Surrounded by the Julian Alps, which capture the sun from east to west, the valley offers exceptional thermal conditions that allow for magnificent long flights and unforgettable panoramic views of steep mountain slopes and the Soča River in the valley.
The most well-known launch sites for paragliding are Stol near Kobarid and Kobala near Tolmin. Regular bus transport is organized for pilots and their equipment to the take-off points. Other popular starting points include Mangart Saddle above Log pod Mangartom, Kanin and Planja above Bovec, as well as Srednji vrh – Matajur and Kuk – Livek above Kobarid.
