The infrastructure and offer for mountain biking and cycling in and around the Soca Valley has increased in the last years.
Infrastructure and offerings for mountain biking and cycling in the Soča Valley and its surroundings have significantly expanded in recent years. One notable development is the Bike Alpe Adria portal, which provides extensive information on numerous cross-border cycling routes suitable for various levels of difficulty. The portal includes routes for groups and families, as well as challenging mountain biking trails. There you can also find trips, routes, tracks and downloads. Some of those routes are via Tolmin-Nova Gorica-Corno to Rosazzo-Cividale-Kobarid, others are the so-called Adria bike route which starts at Kranjska Gora-Tolmin and Nova Gorica and goes to Koper and Ravenna. The valley also hosts the Trans Slovenia 1 and 2 bike paths, which run from Kranjska Gora to Tolmin and Portorož.
On Adriabike you also find a set of digital maps with important information for key cycling links in the valley, connecting routes with neighbouring regions and some local tours in various fields. These routes pass through places such as Kobarid, Drežnica, Breginjski kot, Šentviška planota, and Baška grapa. Maps on both portals are also accessible on mobile devices.
In addition to online resources, a valuable source of information on mountain biking is Peter Immich’s book, “Slowenien – 30 Mountainbiketouren im Soca-Tal.” This book includes links and printed maps with detailed descriptions and precise information on mountain biking trails.
Local agencies also offer the option to rent mountain and electric bikes, as well as guided tours.
