In the Soča Valley and its surroundings, there are many places of historical significance from various periods—ranging from sites older than 6000 years to those from the Middle Ages and World War I. Some of the most well-known and visited landmarks include: Javorca, a church built in the WW1, the Italian charnel house in Kobarid, the German ossuary, the WW1 outdoor museum on Kolovrat, the museum on the Mengore Hill, the Tonocov Grad Hill near Kobarid (historical trail) where there are remains of settlements from the copper age.

We have two well-known museums, the Tolmin museum and of course World War 1 museum in Kobarid.
